Jennifer and Nick

I continue to be struck with the power that is generated between two people on their wedding day. This past weekend I was in the Bangor area capturing the wedding of Jenn and Nick at the Lucerne Inn. I've done a few weddings at the Lucerne now and can say that it is quickly becoming a favored place to shoot. The grounds are attractive, the view to the west is gorgeous and the staff is top notch. We had a beautiful day, not to hot, no rain of course, and intermittent sun which made for some wonderfully soft light. One of the things that struck me about this day was the transition Jenn underwent from being stressed about all the details of the day(which is of course very common) to letting things go, to truly enjoying the entirety of the day. By the time she was exchanging her vows with Nick she was completely present and wholly engrossed in the moment. Nick of course, was just about as happy as a man can get. You couldn't imagine a more genuine smile or sense of fullfillment in a groom.

Jenn and Nick, you guys are great and I thoroughly enjoyed the day I spent with you. It was very rewarding for me to watch the love and tenderness between you two. I know you'll never let go of the love, but I hope you never let go of that tenderness. Here are a few images from the day. Keep an eye on www.rileyclients.com for a slide show of images, it should be finished and ready to view by Friday morning.

Wedding Albums

All of our clients get an amazing wedding album that is "out of this world." They are quite expensive for us to produce and sometimes I wonder if people really understand the amount of time and energy that goes into each one. Today I got an e-mail that made me smile and reminded me just how much people love our albums.

Hey Tim!!

We received our album last week and it's awesome!! We love it so much. It's everything we hoped for and more. The pictures seem to come off the page at you. It looks so great, and everything seems to flow so nicely. Thank you again for everything.

Thanks Krista, you brought a smile to my face for sure! ~tim

Michele & Shawn

Just before a heat wave and between threatening rain clouds was a wedding this weekend. I spent last Sat with Shawn and Michele as they tied the knot in the downtown of Old Town, Maine. I first met these two over a year and a half ago while at a wedding show when they fell in love with our style of albums and our work. The day started early (7:30am) as the ladies got finished prepping and Michele was ready early.

IT’S A RECORD as I have never had a bride ready so far ahead time. In fact I managed to get her out of the house for an unplanned bridal shoot around town. First we stopped at the local playground, then the fire house and next an old rusty train truss-ell for a few “not so bridal” photos.

To our future brides: Take a page out of Michele’s book and plan for an hour bridal shoot before he wedding. She had a blast and now has some killer photos to show for it just because she was ready early.

Guests: I have created a slideshow for you to see at our other site, www.rileyclients.com

The password is Michele's last name. NO CAPS

The rest of the photos will be online as soon as I get them finished.

Running Behind

Normally I try to get a few photos on the blog from each photo shoot the day after. But the work piled up and it slipped my mind. Two weeks ago I started my day with Jenna at the Freeport Salon as she and her bridesmaids had their hair done up for Jenna’s wedding. I had photographed Jenna & Joe’s engagement photos a year prior so I knew just what to expect and I was right. Jenna arrived all smiles and a big hug. I love having the kind of relationship with my clients that allows them to feel comfortable enough to greet me with a hug… it just rocks!

Jenna and Joe are truly “two peas in a pod” and I am so happy for them. Jenna’s big bright smile lasted all day long and I don’t recall ever seeing a hint or nerves from this beautiful bride. After reviewing the photos I did however find a twinge of nervousness in Joe’s expression before the service. But as Jenna walked down the isle you could see the weight of the world lifted from his shoulders.

One of the best things about my job is getting to see how the grooms expression changes when his bride to be walks down the isle. It never gets old!

Thanks to Jenna & Joe for making me feel so welcome on their wedding day!!!!

We have loaded a slideshow of 100 photos on www.rileyclients.com and will post the rest of the photos in two weeks after Jenna and Joe have had a chance to review all the photos.

Stages

I spent last Sunday Morning with a group of infants, children and their parents at our new space in Scarborough. We are excited to be in a retail space and more excited about the projection viewing room we now have for our clients to review their photos and select the right print sizes they want.

Anyway: Below is a slideshow of 113 photos (of a total of 1200) that I have selected to put in a slideshow. The images this shoot will be printed "larger than life" in black and white on enormous canvas prints and hung on the walls at Stages. The "washed out" look of these photographs was intentional as the owners of Stages wanted a soft, almost abstract look to the final prints. I am so excited by the result as the kids are just too darn cute!!!!

Come see the prints!!!!

Parents: Stages has purchased a 5x7 print for you. please call me to schedule a time to come and see all the photographs of your child.
