What a great day for a sled dog race! While the rest of the world was getting ready for the superbowl a group of dedicated folks were gathered in Farmington, Maine for a sled dog race that has been running annually for 5 years. A huge thanks goes out to the Turners, and the Downeast Sled Dog Club for their efforts in putting on this great event. The race drew mushers from all over New England, and even as far away as Prince Edward Island!!!
Also gathered were a solid group of spectators. This is the second year I’ve taken the time to capture the race, and I’m hoping to make it an annual event. I love the community aspect, the love each owner has for their dogs, and the overwhelming energy at the start of each race. If you’ve never seen a sled dog race up close YOU MUST!!!
