I got to know this student and her mom last year while doing their senior photos. After seeing the results from the senior session I invited the them back for a portfolio shoot to see what other fun images we could create. We had a blast!!!!

Trash The Dress

Trash The Dress,

As part of most of our wedding packages we offer a pre wedding photo shoot. For most couples this included a engagement shoot but other options are available for those few daring couples that want something a little “different.”

The other options include a boudoir studio shoot or a trash the dress session.

Trash the dress is basically a model shoot in a $50 wedding dress with or without your future spouse around for the fun. It’s a chance for you to get to know us and to take photographs of you in a wedding dress in a way that we could never imagine on your wedding day in your actual dress. It’s a chance to get a dress just a little dirty and to push the envelope of what is possible for wedding photos.

Below is a sample of a trash the dress photo shoot we did last fall. The actual wedding was last weekend in Jamaica, but the trash the tress shoot was late at night last October. Enjoy!

A Jamaican Love Story!!

As a photographer the best gifts are often very simple; time, patience, and great lighting . Since I met Chris and Monica and started working with them they have given me two of the best gifts: time and a willingness to get creative! Each occasion I have had to shoot with them has been fun, easy, and full of new ideas. Of course we've also had a had a blast creating some cool images.
Last week I was fortunate enough to go to Jamaica with them to capture their wedding in the Ocho Rios region. The setting was as you might expect, perfect: soft afternoon light, tropical ocean backdrop, the ever present tradewinds to keep things from getting too hot, and of course turquoise waters. No really, I can't make this stuff up. The anecdotes of our time down there could go on far too long, but I'll spare you the details. In short - visit Jamaica if you get the chance. Heck - get married down there, if you get the chance!!!!

Oct 4th, 2008 is open

In the last few weeks we have turned away quite a few brides for the oct 4th, 2008 date.

This morning our oct 4th bride had to change her date to one of our other open dates.

What a great day for a sled dog race! While the rest of the world was getting ready for the superbowl a group of dedicated folks were gathered in Farmington, Maine for a sled dog race that has been running annually for 5 years. A huge thanks goes out to the Turners, and the Downeast Sled Dog Club for their efforts in putting on this great event. The race drew mushers from all over New England, and even as far away as Prince Edward Island!!!

Also gathered were a solid group of spectators. This is the second year I've taken the time to capture the race, and I'm hoping to make it an annual event. I love the community aspect, the love each owner has for their dogs, and the overwhelming energy at the start of each race. If you've never seen a sled dog race up close YOU MUST!!!
