The other day I got to spend an hour or so shooting with with Jillian. We had a lot of fun, and ran all over her grandmothers property finding fun places to make images. Thanks Jillian! I hope you had as much fun as I did.

Chris and Jillian Trash The Dress

A little over a week ago I got to spend a few hours with Chris and Jillian "Trashing the Dress". Although we certainly could have trashed it more, we got it good and dirty, and had a ton of fun together. They have the cutest boxer puppy that we engaged in a few images as well. Overall I had a blast - these kind of shoots are such a blast b/c there is very little limit to what is possible. I can't wait for their wedding!! Here is a slideshow of a few of my favorites from our afternoon together.

Tim, Kristi & Emma

My regular blog readers know that due on Christmas day is the first "Riley" female in 60+ years. Our Ella has broken the male streak and we are just soo excited.

With a child on the way, it seems that I feel a renewed connection with my younger clients. This was never more obvious than today as I reunited with Kristi, Tim and Emma. I first met Kristi and Tim at a wedding and later photographed Emma while she was in utero. (Kristi's maternity shoot)

Since that first photo shoot, we have gotten to see these guys a few times. Tim has become the graphic artist behind our many websites, our fancy business cards and soo many other hair-brained ideas I send his way.

As we walked down the beach today little Emma let me carry her across the sand and then half way down the beach. It is just so hard to explain why, but this simple act of holding a cute little two year old just about brought me to tears. I am just so excited to be a dad and spending time with this great family seemed to hit home in an all new way.

Kelly & Steve, Engaged!

Kelly and Steve are currently on a 5 month “World Honey Tour.” You see these two elected to spend their honey moon trekking the globe checking out all the cool places they could visit over a 5 month period. I got an e-mail from them last night from Lima Peru...

My next blog entry is going to be all about their wedding. But for now I wanted to share their engagement photos. I wanted to share the slide show of their engagement photos because I want future brides to realize just how fun being a model for a day can be!

We did these photos two days before their wedding. The sky was dark and the rain storms never seemed more than an hour apart. Not perfect for an outdoor photo shoot. But Kelly was nervous for her wedding photos and wanted the practice of being in front of a camera. What we learned was that she is a natural! They both are!

Anyway, I know I am rambling a little but to all those brides out there looking for a photographer… Remember that your photos should be fun! In a 1 hour photo shoot Kelly and Steve managed to get photos with the Portland Fire Department, A stolen (borrowed) 1950s era tandem bike, and a few images on one of Portland working waterfront piers. Not to mention being “cat called” at 4 times while in the red dress!

You guys rock!

I first met Chris and Liz when we went out for a drink in Portland’s Old Port as they planned their wedding. I didn’t know how they felt about me, but I was certain that I wanted to photograph their wedding the moment I met them. I got to see them again when I photographed their engagement photos and the three of us had so much fun! So when I arrived on their wedding day I knew this was going to be a great day. And it was!

Krystal & Tom At The Falmouth Country Club

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with Krystal and Tom at the Falmouth Country Club. This bride and groom are self professed golf addicts so the location of their wedding seemed so fitting. In an effort to make their wedding photos true to the theme I spent 30 minutes alone with them snapping a few photos out on the course.
