Its an honor to be hired to photograph anyones wedding.  But when your re-hired over and over again for each subsequent child’s wedding, it leaves a lump in your throat.

Jason and Lisa had an absolutely fantastic wedding day on all levels.  They were blessed with perfect weather,  were joined in a heartwarming ceremony, surrounded by the best of friends, and nourished by carefully considered food.  They danced late into the evening with their friends and celebrated a new beginning.  It’s hard to imagine how one could ask for anything better on their wedding day.

Congratulations!!  I wish you a lifetime of happiness.  Enjoy these few photos while the other are being finished.

Holy smokes, somebody pinch me!  As a photographer, it just doesn’t get any better than that and when you throw in a couple that is fun, laid back, and completely in love with each other, well, you have a recipe for one incredible celebration.  I’ll let the photos that follow tell the story but let me just say that it was an honor to be a part and thanks for making my job a dream that day!

After about 10 minutes of the shoot and me reminding him that its not a church and I am not her mother…  ”Its okay to put your hand there Chad, its for the photos”   …   It was then that he realized this was going to be fun.   The result of the following “2″ hours was some of the most fun I have had as a photographer in years.  These two people reminded me in those two hours, why it is that I love doing what I do.  Your willingness to dive-in obviously shows in the photos and it was a gift to me as well.

Your wedding package came with an A La Carte credit to spend on different items we offer.     This is the list of items and pricing included in your 2012 wedding contract.

Wedding Album Options Explained.

Basic Info:

A:  All albums come with a photograph and/or any text you might want on the cover. (Note – some of the Italian albums only allow for a photograph cameo on the cover)

B:  All albums come standard with 10 spreads.   What is a spread?   Open a book, the left side and right side = 1 spread.   20 “pages” = 10 Spreads.      This is a critical point that you need to understand before moving forward.  If you are confused call us for clarification.

C:  The 20-Page Archival Coffee Table Album listed in your contract is defined below as the “Standard Coffee Table Album.”   We have recently added a less expensive option and a more expensive option in an effort to help brides spend their a la carte credit more easily.  But your contract was written about the STANDARD COFFEE TABLE ALBUM listed below.

D:  Out of Credit but still want more?    Below is some discounts for when you want items that cost more than the credit you have.  Based on these prices, if your new out of pocket cost is more than $900, you can take $210 off the balance.   Spend more, save more.      THESE DEALS ARE FOR OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES, NOT CREDIT USEAGE.

• $500 in add on sales = subtract $75
• $750 in add on sales = subtract $150

Example #1.   Susan & Jeff have an $1100 credit to spend and a little extra money to invest on wedding day items.  They select to get the DVD of all wedding day images which cost them $600 from their $1100 credit, but they still want an album.   They want a 10×10 Coffee table album as well.    So they will use their remaining $500 in credit and  will spend $600 additionally.  If they then add 10 extra spreads at $75 per spread, their new total would be (10x$75) + ($600)= $1350.   But with the $200 discount from the above list its actually $1150.

Slim line vs. Standard Coffee Album vs. Italian:  

SLIM LINE ALBUM:

A Slim Line album is an album with a hard photo cover and printed on archival quality linen or matte paper.  The pages are flush mount printed and their are photos and designs on both sides of the paper.  The best analogy might be a high quality photography book from your local library or book store.   Here are a few photos of our slim line albums.

An Italian Coffee Table Album is of the highest quality.  These albums lay flat like the standard albums but their pages are even thicker and their build is out of this world.  They are made with the highest level of photographic papers and  come in a variety of cover options.  This is the product that your Grandchildrens-grandchildren will admire long after you are gone.   Each album comes with a handmade box and protective cover. Allow 6-8 weeks for delivery as they actually come from Italy.  Here are a few photos of our Italian Coffee Table Albums.

 How to get my albums?

Again, read closely.  If you do this wrong it could be a massive waste of everyone’s time.

Step #1.   Print out the designs.    We have emailed you a PDF that looks like this one.    You need to print this out before you can begin.   We suggest putting the PDF on a USB drive and having staples print it in color.    One sided only please!

Step #2.  Using the print out, set the cover aside.   We can edit this as much as needed.

Step #3.   Going through the print out, start by selecting the 10 spreads you like the most.    Put them aside as keepers and begin going through the rest of the pile of designs selecting the ones you want in your book.

Hint #1:   The average wedding album ends up with between 5 and 10 extra spreads.  

Hint #2:   The MAX number of spreads a book can have is 40. 

Hint #3:  We’ve been told by our customers a bottle of wine makes this process easier.   Much easier!

Hint #4:   Most wedding albums tell the story of your wedding day.  Each spread is a chapter in your day.  10 spreads for some is plenty.  Many of our customers elect to have extra spreads because they feel that 10 isn’t enough to tell the whole story.  10 spreads is the industry standard, but we’ll make a book as big as you like(up to 40 spreads).

Step #4:   Pay attention here!    Your wedding package includes up to 2 hours of album editing and photo retouching after the original design is complete.   This is more than enough if you follow the steps.  Added editing time is $65 an hour, but we expect that if you follow the instructions you should not incur any added editing charges.

Requesting Changes:

Using the print out of the pages you want kept, use a red pen to switch out photos.  Here is an example of what this should look like.    Here is example of what this should NOT look like.   Basically you need to tell us which photo number goes into which spot on the page.   Be smart about this and only ask us to replace a vertical photo with a new vertical image. Horizontally taken images don’t look good on the page when put into a small box that is vertical.    YOU MAY ONLY REQUEST TO HAVE HALF OF THE IMAGES PLACED ON ANY ONE PAGE.  OTHERWISE JUST USE A BLANK PIECE OF PAPER AND LIST THE IMAGE NUMBERS YOU WANT ON THE PAGE AND WE WILL START OVER.   LIMIT TO 10 IMAGES PER SPREAD.

Note:  We take great pride in the albums we create for our customers.  We will not put too many photos in an album such that it looks like a scrap book.  Most of our customers will receive a DVD of their images with their package.  Use the DVD to print your images and make an awesome scrapbook.  The album is supposed to be a clean and elegant design.

Step #5.    Photocopy the pages you want ordered and mail it back to us.  Keep your originals; things do get lost in the mail, it’s not that uncommon.
